Golden porridge

There’s something magical about porridge. It’s versatile, delicious, easy to cook and it’s a great source of fibre which plays an essential role in our digestive health.


I don’t like plain food so I try to combine different ingredients in order to have a nice taste and to nourish my body. Here's one of my favourite recipes for the good old porridge:


Ingredients:

- 4 tablespoons Jumbo oats

- 1 cup milk of your choice (I prefer almond milk) *

- 1 teaspoon Turmeric golden paste

- 1 tablespoon of grounded nuts and/or seeds of your choice

- 2 tablespoons desiccated coconut

- Honey or maple syrup to taste

- A pinch of salt

*plain water works fine as well


Method:

Place all ingredients apart from the coconut in a pan then bring to the boil and simmer for five minutes. Stir continuously so it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan. If you want your porridge runnier, just add more milk.


At the end, add the coconut then enjoy your porridge creamy and delicious taste!
